Young Munster Win Battle Of Bottom Clubs

British & Irish Lions legend Fran Cotton was an interested spectator when the two bottom clubs in the Division One, Young Munster and Terenure College, met at Tom Clifford Park on Saturday.

Terenure College: Pen: David McAllister

Clem Casey and Brendan Guilfoyle both touched down as Young Munster prevailed over their basement rivals Terenure College.

Division One’s two lowest-ranked teams met at Tom Clifford Park and the hosts used the wind to good effect in the opening half.

Young Munster turned around with a 15-0 advantage after Mark McHugh, Munster squad member Mike Prendergast and Cian Clohessy, a nephew of Peter, set up Casey’s try and the pack then drove Guilfoyle over before the break.

Terenure’s only response was a late David McAllister penalty.
