Injuries Clearing For Connacht

Connacht have received a timely boost ahead of Friday’s Magners League meeting with the Scarlets, with several of their players returning from injury.

Flanker Ray Ofisa is back in contention for the Sportsground clash (kick-off 6.30pm) having recovered from injury.

Connacht coach Michael Bradley and his assistant Eric Elwood will also have a number of options at the back with Gavin Duffy and centre Keith Matthews available having missed last weekend’s defeat at Leinster.

The Connacht squad for Friday’s game will be announced on Wednesday with the starting line-up and replacements named on Thursday.

Bradley has appealed for the westerners’ fans to turn out in force for what is a vital league encounter.

“The crowd were superb against Munster. They really got behind the team and made a big difference,” he said.

“We are hoping to create the same atmosphere for every home match.

“This will be a big test against the Scarlets, especially as they have so many Welsh internationals on duty but we are playing well at the moment and are confident of another win.”
