2008 is drawing to a close so we thought this would be a good time to take a look back at the year. The photo galleries on IrishRugby.ie are always popular and an image can speak volumes about a moment in time.
Rugby grows more and more popular in Ireland as evidenced by the increased playing numbers at every grade and these twelve images show some of the magic moments as well as the breadth of the game in Ireland in 2008.
The editor’s choice reflects some well known and some not so well known teams, images and people who make the game of rugby what it is.
As ever the images are, with a couple of exceptions, focused on the players but we should not forget the countless thousands in every club and every province who contribute time and money to the game through their support at matches, in the clubhouse and in their community.
