Three Irish referees have been appointed for the 2009 Rugby World Cup 7s which takes place in Dubai in March.

Ireland will be represented by more than just our 7s team at the 2009 Rugby World Cup 7s in Dubai following the announcement of three Irish referees on the panel of officials for the tournament.

David Keane and Simon McDowell have both been appointed to the referee panel and Keane has been honoured with the role of Referee Captain at the tournament.

Aoife McCarthy has been appointed to the Assistant Referee panel for the Women’s tournament.

These appointments follow on from the announcement last week of three Irish referees for the 2009 RBS 6 Nations and help to cement Ireland and the IRFU’s reputation for producing top quality referess at every level of the game.
