The Good Women Of Ballymena

They say that behind every good man, there is a good woman. That is certainly the case at Ballymena RFC where their Ladies Committee are renowned by all of the Ulster and AIB League clubs for their excellent pre-match lunches.

This group of dedicated club members play a very important part in the running of Ballymena RFC and contribute to the crucial income required to meet the ever increasing operating costs.

However, they are more than just a committee. They recently provided the catering service for the club’s Jazz Night with a French meal, which was enjoyed by all. This meal was served to the customers by Ballymena’s Under-16 Youth squad.

The motto of ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’ or girl in this case, certainly applies, as the ladies ensure that after the work is done and the lunches delivered, they let their hair down and enjoy some wine, usually provided by their very satisfied customers.

Their season is never complete without the men of the club saying thank you by cooking and serving a dinner to the ladies.

This is then followed with the weekend tour to locations such as Palma or Majorca, after which there is rarely any tour talk.
