Connacht Branch Host Child Welfare Workshop

Following the recent publication of the Irish Rugby Football Union’s revised Child Welfare document, a series of workshops are taking place for clubs and schools in each of the four provinces. The Connacht Branch recently hosted two such seminars.

The Connacht Branch of the IRFU hosted the second of their two Child Welfare Policy Workshops in Claremorris (the first being in Galway).

Hendrik Kruger of the IRFU said: “Connacht Rugby have done a good job of organising both evenings. It was encouraging to have such a positive response to this and the feedback and questions & answer sessions have been very engaging.”

Pat O’Connor, the chair of the Child Welfare Committee, added: “I was very pleased with attendance of the Connacht clubs – the meetings posed interesting questions and the feedback was exceptionally positive.

“I was delighted with the turnout of our clubs. It was great to see that we have Child Welfare as a very important aspect of our domestic rugby.”
