Bradley ‘Moving On Quickly’ To Dax Challenge

Connacht coach Michael Bradley says it is vital Connacht turn all of their attention to Friday night’s opening game of the European Challenge Cup away to Dax.

Bradley said that the victory on Sunday over Leinster was a great boost but they would not be getting carried away with it.

“It’s a good win and gives us something to build on. We worked hard and played sensible rugby when it was required and deserved the win,” he said.

“But we need to move on quickly as there is a short turnaround for the Dax match.

“We leave on Wednesday morning so it is vital that everyone is in the right frame of mind because this will be a tough test as they have chalked up some impressive results in the French Top 14.”

The former Ireland scrum half said there was a great buzz in the aftermath of the Leinster match.

“The crowd was super especially in the closing minutes when we were under massive pressure and trying to hang on to a one-point lead. I have no doubt they enjoyed the win every bit as much as we did.

“Hopefully, it will be more of the same when we take on London Irish on Friday week. But for now all of our attention must be on Dax on Friday.”

Unfortunately, out-half Ian Keatley will have to sit out Connacht’s European opener after sustaining a head injury in the Leinster game.

Keatley shone for the westerners, kicking 14 points and putting in a try-saving tackle on Rocky Elsom. Fit-again duo Andy Dunne and Tim Donnelly, as well as Troy Nathan, will battle it out for the number 10 jersey.
