Bradley Calls For Strong Response From Connacht

Following last week’s record Magners League defeat to Cardiff, Connacht coach Michael Bradley wants an immediate response from his players this weekend when Leinster visit Galway for a vital derby clash.

Bradley says Connacht must now focus their attention on the Leinster game at the Sportsground next Sunday evening (kick-off 6pm).

He said that the 58-0 defeat away to Cardiff at the weekend needed to be corrected. The bulk of the damage was done in the run-up to half-time as Cardiff built a 46-0 interval lead.

“As management and players that is unacceptable. The system broke down and Cardiff ran right through us. It cannot be accepted in a professional sport,” he said.

Bradley pointed out that Connacht responded to defeat away to Llanelli by regrouping and defeating Glasgow the following week.

“We need the same response now. We need a reaction. What happened in Cardiff is just not good enough, we are better than that but if you don’t get your tackles in then you will be made pay.

“We cannot allow what happened in the run-up to half-time to happen again. All focus now has to switch to the Leinster game next Sunday.”

Meanwhile, tickets for Connacht’s first home derby match of the season against Leinster are selling fast.

The match, which is expected to be sold-out come match time, has traditionally been an attractive fixture in the Magners League and Interpro calendars with demand for tickets high.

Over the past few weeks tickets have been selling well from Ticketmaster and from the Connacht Branch offices but supporters are encouraged to buy their tickets early.
