Connacht Injury Situation Improves

Johnny O’Connor, John Hearty and Robbie Morris have all recovered from injury to be included in the Connacht squad for this Friday’s Magners League meeting with the Glasgow Warriors at the Sportsground (kick-off 6.30pm).

Connacht coach Michael Bradley have selected a 24-man squad for the game against Glasgow as the westerners bid to kickstart their Magners League campaign.

Connacht captain John Muldoon says that the visit of Glasgow to the Sportsground is a key game for his men.

“It is a massive match and one we must win. We were very disappointed with our performance away to the Scarlets and we want to correct that,” said the back rower.

“We are now in our own backyard and we want to show our fans what we can do. Glasgow are a very good side, they have 15 or 16 internationals in their squad.

“But this is one we need to win and with the crowd behind us we can do that.”

Connacht’s next home match after Friday will be against defending league campaigns Leinster on Sunday, October 5 (kick off 6pm) and tickets for this game are currently on sale.

CONNACHT Squad (v Glasgow Warriors): Backs (11) – Liam Bibo, Kieran Campbell, Fionn Carr, Mel Deane, Gavin Duffy, Andy Dunne, John Hearty, Ian Keatley, keith Matthews, Frank Murphy, Aidan Wynne.

Forwards (14) – Andrew Browne, Sean Cronin, Adrian Flavin, Andrew Farley, Ronan Loughney, Michael McCarthy, Brian McGovern, Robbie Morris, John Muldoon, Johnny O’Connor, Ray Ofisa, Colm Rigney, Brett Wilkinson.
