Irish Women Lose Out To England

The Ireland Women’s team went down fighting against Grand Slam winners England in Tuesday’s FIRA-AER Women’s European Championship semi-final at Drachten.

ENGLAND 22 IRELAND 11, Drachten


The Ireland Women’s team lost out to England in their tier A semi-final. Having trailed by 12-3 at half-time, Simon Broughton’s side put in a brave performance but the English proved too strong.


Ireland will now face France in the 3rd-4th place play-off, while England remain favourites to overcome Wales in the final and lift the overall title.
