Prendergast Rejoins Young Munster

With the dust hardly settled on the 2007/08 AIB League season, Young Munster are already making plans for their return to Division One in October. The Limerick club have signed one of their former players, Mike Prendergast.

Prendergast, who turns 31 next week, made his mark with Young Munster in the late 1990s and early part of this century before being capped by Munster.

The experienced scrum half played his last game for the province against Cardiff in May 2006 before putting in season-long stints with both Bourgoin and Gloucester.

He played ten times for Gloucester this season, making six starts, and one of his appearances as a replacement came against Ulster in the Heineken Cup in November.

It is anticipated that Prendergast’s return to Tom Clifford Park will see him slot in at out-half as the Cookies are losing Tom Wells back to New Zealand and they are keen to maintain impressive youngster Conor Murray’s development at number 9.
