All-Ireland Under-20 Audio: UL Bohemians’ Reaction

Saturday afternoon was an historic one for Mike Nix’s young UL Bohemians side as they won the All-Ireland Under-20 championship for the first time in the club’s history. They beat Lansdowne 5-0 in a hard-fought final at Portlaoise RFC.

After the final, journalist Coilin Duffy caught up with UL Bohemians’ winning captain Giles Boland and manager Mike Nix to get their opinions on the 5-0 final victory over UL Bohemians, the squad involved and the overall season for the Limerick students, which included a staggering 165 training sessions.

Nix admitted: “The spirit we have in the squad is phenomenal. Already ten of the players have played senior rugby this year, be it Charity Cup, be it AIB League or be it Munster Senior Cup.

“You saw them singing their song (‘The Red, Red Robin’) after the match was over. They’re Bohs men, they’re Bohs men and they’ll be with us for a good while. They won’t be going anywhere.”
