Geordan Murphy, Ireland’s man-of-the-match in their recent win over Scotland, sat out Monday’s session at Belfield. The full-back injured the Achilles tendon in his right leg during Leicester Tigers’ Guinness Premiership clash with Leeds Carnegie over the weekend.

The injury is being assessed by the Ireland medical team ahead of tomorrow’s team announcement for the game against Wales.

Girvan Dempsey, who was a late withdrawal from the team that beat Scotland, took some part in today’s training stint as he continues his recovery from a hip strain.
