France Name Same Squad For Ireland Match

France have selected an unchanged 22-man squad for next Saturday’s Six Nations showdown with Ireland in Paris, keeping faith with the players who secured a 27-6 win over Scotland yesterday afternoon.

Scrum half Jean-Baptiste Elissalde has been included despite worries over the ankle injury he sustained after an hour’s play at Murrayfield.

Centre David Marty and prop Nicolas Mas retain their places in the squad after coming in for Florian Fritz (fractured fibula) and Jean-Baptiste Poux (thigh) in the lead-up to the Scotland game.

Centre Yannick Jauzion, who is fighting his way back after breaking his hand last month, remains an absentee despite playing for Toulouse in their last two Top 14 championship games.

French coach Marc Lievremont will name his team and replacements for the clash with Ireland tomorrow.

FRANCE Squad (v Ireland): Forwards – Julien Brugnaut (Dax), Lionel Faure (Sale), Nicolas Mas (Perpignan), William Servat (Toulouse), Dimitri Szarzewski (Stade Francais), Loic Jacquet (Clermont Auvergne), Lionel Nallet (Castres) (capt), Arnaud Mela (Albi), Julien Bonnaire (Clermont Auvergne), Thierry Dusautoir (Toulouse), Fulgence Ouedraogo (Montpellier), Elvis Vermeulen (Clermont Auvergne).

Backs – Jean-Baptiste Elissalde (Toulouse), Morgan Parra (Bourgoin), Francois Trinh-Duc (Montpellier), David Skrela (Stade Francais), David Marty (Perpignan), Damien Traille (Biarritz), Vincent Clerc (Toulouse), Julien Malzieu (Clermont Auvergne), Cedric Heymans (Toulouse), Aurelien Rougerie (Clermont Auvergne).
