AIB Cup: ‘Rock Roar Past UCD And Into Last-Four

Former Leinster and Ireland hooker Shane Byrne touched down twice as Blackrock College won through to the AIB Cup semi-finals for the first time.

‘Rock broke clear of UCD in the second half at Stradbrook, after establishing a 12-7 half-time lead.

Byrne pounced from close range for his first try, while loosehead prop Kieran Moloney did likewise.

Winger Cian Aherne showed good pace to nab UCD’s only try, but second half scores from Byrne, Sean Byrne and Fionn Carr completed a good day at the office for ‘Rock.
