Adams Encouraged By Munster ‘A’ Victory

Munster ‘A’ coach and Academy manager Hamish Adams was pleased with his team’s 27-11 triumph over their Leinster counterparts in Thursday’s Interprovincial clash at the UL Bowl.

HAMISH ADAMS (Munster ‘A’ coach):

“I thought we had a fantastic first half during which we played some very good rugby. We held onto the ball and the scores came.

“In the second half though, we went to sleep and Leinster came back into it. I thought we squandered a couple of opportunities and I though that overall we were a couple of scores better than what the scoreline suggested.

“The number of second half opportunites we failed to translate into scores was a disappointment. As a team we have not had a lot of time together, the players come together for these one-off games and so the combinations are not going to be as spot on as you would hope them to be, but it was a very good performance overall.”

COLIN MCENTEE (Leinster ‘A’ coach):

“I thought Munster started quite well and got a bit of dominance in the set play and especially in the lineout. We spilt too much ball going forward and Munster took their opportunities quite well.

“We missed a few one-on-one tackles as well. It was a frustrating first half for us. But in the second half we got more possession and got our reward (with the try).”
