In Pics: Ireland’s Dublin Departure And Arrival In Bordeaux

Ireland’s World Cup squad and management team touched down in Bordeaux, their base for the tournament’s pool stages, on Wednesday evening. See below for a photo gallery link.

After landing at Bordeaux Airport, Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll said: “It’s not until you finally touch the ground in the country where the competition is taking place that you get the feeling of taking part in a World Cup.”

Looking ahead to Sunday’s Pool D clash with Namibia, he added: “I’m fit for selection. Depending on what this man beside me (Eddie O’Sullivan) decides. I’m certainly hoping to play in that number 13 shirt.”
