Despite mounting a second half surge which included tries from Isaac Boss and Andrew Trimble, Ireland could not overhaul Scotland as they went down 31-21 to the hosts at Murrayfield this afternoon. See below for a link to photos from the match.

After the ten-point defeat, the Irish management and playing squad flew back to Dublin tonight ahead of tomorrow morning’s announcement of Ireland’s 30-man Rugby World Cup squad.

The World Cup squad will fly from Dublin to Capbreton in southern France tomorrow afternoon for a week-long warm weather training camp, which will include a game against French club side Bayonne next Thursday.

The management and players will return home next Friday before reassembling the following Monday in Belfast ahead of the team’s second international warm-up match against Italy at Ravenhill (Friday, August 24).
