Brent Bows Out In Style

Gentle giant and hugely reluctant pop star Brent Pope last night waved goodbye to supporters in the Helix following his elimination from RTE’s Charity You’re a Star.

Despite a powerful rendition of Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, in what judges described as Brent’s best performance yet, the shy New Zealander unfortunately did not make the cut.

The IRFU Charitable Trust  would like to sincerely thank Brent for dedicating endless hours and emotional resolve to fight through the terror of being so far outside his comfort zone for the sake of an important cause.

A big thank you to all of you for all the votes, which were instrumental to Brent making it through the first two rounds,  raising much needed funds for the IRFU Charitable Trust , which plays a vital role in supporting injured players and their families.

Serious rugby injury is a frightening prospect for any player, and his or her family. Rugby is a contact game and injuries are a  reality.  Over the years there have been a number of players seriously injured involving various forms of paralysis. The IRFU Charitable Trust  maintains regular contact with injured players and their families and also help with locomotory expenses, specialised equipment (such as lifting equipment, beds, or wheelchairs), home alterations, medical expenses, nursing and caring costs, motor vehicles, etc.

Thanks  again for all the support!
