Tickets Selling Fast For Connacht-South Africa Game

Tickets for Connacht’s pre-season friendly with World Cup contenders South Africa, at the Sportsground on August 21, have been selling fast with the main stand terrace having sold out already on Tuesday morning.

Over half of the total tickets on sale have already sold and the match is expected to be announced as a sell out by next weekend. Tickets are however still available for the clubhouse terrace and are available from the Connacht branch offices or from www.ticketmaster.ie.

Season tickets have also been selling well with many fans availing of the opportunity to purchase a second ticket for the South Africa match, however some season tickets are also still available.

Season ticket holders who have not already bought an extra ticket for the game, are still guaranteed availability and there are also some hospitality packages still available – details of which can be obtained by contacting Connacht Rugby’s Commercial Manager Fiona Keys at fiona@cbirfu.com or tel: (091) 561568.

The match is expected to be announced as an all-ticket affair and Keys is delighted with the response from fans.

“The interest not only from our own supporters but also from the UK has been incredible,” she said. “We’re expecting this match to be sold out by the weekend so we would urge anybody wanting to come to the match to buy their tickets immediately.”

Adult tickets cost €30 and children will be admitted for €10 for the hugely anticipated game which will take place in Galway on Tuesday, August 21 (kick-off 7.30pm).

Purchasing a season ticket remains the best value and guarantees entry to the glamour tie with the Springboks.

The following are the price of the various season tickets on offer:

Regular €180; Gold (access to enclosed seating and bar) €255; Student/Senior €110; Family (two adults and two children) €320 and Junior (7-18 years) €60.

Season ticket holders will gain entry to all nine of Connacht’s Magners League games at the Sportsground, the three group games in the European Challenge Cup and all pre-season friendlies.

Gold season ticket holders should note that they will not have access to the enclosed seating and bar for the South Africa match as this part of the stadium will be required for corporate hospitality.
