IRFU Performance Analyst

The Irish Rugby Football Union is currently seeking applications for the position of ‘Performance Analyst’ in our Rugby Department.

The purpose of this position will be to deliver and develop a world class high performance service to both elite players and coaching staff.

Reporting to the ‘Elite Player Development Manager’, the ‘Performance Analyst’ will have:
An excellent understanding of the coaching process and the needs of elite players in a high performance environment.
Proven ability to analyse rugby union in relation to specific performance analysis support needs.
A working knowledge of computer analysis systems coupled with an understanding of various sport science and medicine disciplines.
Ability to modify performance analysis programmes according to the results of assessment data and performance in conjunction with rugby coaches and other support staff.
Previous exposure to the rules and regulations of rugby union.


It is essential that the successful candidate has exceptionally strong communication skills, including the ability to implement innovative ideas; to influence athlete and coach support programmes; and to communicate complex data in terms that are easily understood by a wide range of audiences.


Excellent team work abilities and presentation skills are also required, as well as an aptitude for problem solving and a positive attitude to the adoption of new ideas and practices.
