Darbyshire Joins Munster Coaching Staff

Paul Darbyshire is hoping to make the most of “a fantastic opportunity” after being appointed as Munster Rugby’s new Fitness and Conditioning coach.

Darbyshire arrived in Cork on Tuesday to take up his new role, which has seen him leave Warrington Wolves after an 18-year stint with the English rugby league club.

The 37-year-old former Wolves player has signed a three-year contract with Munster and is already working with the province’s squad as they get through their pre-season work.

Darbyshire said of the move: “It’s a fantastic opportunity. Munster are one of the biggest sides in Europe. It’s something I can’t wait to get to grips with.”

The Wigan native played for Western Suburbs in Australia in the 1990s, and has plenty of union experience, having played for Orrell and provided coaching in recent seasons for Broughton Park and Waterloo.
