Leinster Name Squad For Crunch Cardiff Clash

Leinster have today announced a 26-man squad for Friday’s must-win Magners League clash with Cardiff Blues (Arms Park, kick-off 7.10pm). Should current leaders Leinster triumph in the Welsh capital, they will lift the league title – depending on how the Ospreys fare in their final two league matches.

All 22 of the squad that defeated the Border Reivers 31-0 have been included so that means that Leinster go into the final round of games with the competition’s joint-top try scorer in Jamie Heaslip (7) and the second top points scorer in the competition, Felipe Contepomi (181), in their armoury.

Out-half and stand-in captain Contepomi passed the 800 career points mark during last weekend’s victory. Friday’s game could mark Reggie Corrigan, Guy Easterby and Will Green’s final professional game before their retirement.

Meanwhile, Leinster Sports Travel are running a one-day charter for supporters on Friday. The flight departs from Dublin Airport at 12 noon on Friday and will return that night with the squad. For further details, please telephone Leinster Sports Travel on 01-8336935 or visit www.leinsterrugby.ie for details.

LEINSTER Squad: Forwards – Reggie Corrigan, Cian Healy, Will Green, Stan Wright, Brian Blaney, Bernard Jackman, Owen Finegan, Trevor Hogan, Malcolm O’Kelly, Cameron Jowitt, Stephen Keogh, Keith Gleeson, Jamie Heaslip, Sean O’Brien.

Backs – Guy Easterby, Paul O’Donohoe, Chris Whitaker, Felipe Contepomi, Christian Warner, Gordon D’Arcy, Shane Horgan, Kieran Lewis, Denis Hickie, Rob Kearney, Girvan Dempsey, Luke Fitzgerald.
