Wicklow Girls’ Rugby Blitz

Girls’ underage rugby is a recent phenomenon that is growing at an exponential rate. This weekend Wicklow RFC are set to host up to 11 underage girls teams from around the country in a rugby bonanza. Coca-Cola and Rugbytech will be providing prizes on the day.

Next Saturday, April 21, Wicklow RFC plays host to this year’s end of season ‘GIRLS RUGBY BLITZ.’  Teams will be coming from Armagh, Wexford, Thurles, Ardee, Virginia, and Gorey, to compete against WRFC U-15 and U-18 girls.

Kick off is at 11.00am and all teams will be competing for two Leinster Cups.  Up to eleven underage teams will compete throughout the day in order to gain their spot in the finals.  They will play a series of games, having to qualify from their section to progress in the competition, culminating with the U-15s final at 4pm and the U18s final at 4.45pm.

It promises to be a thrilling day of entertaining rugby and a great event for Wicklow RFC and girls rugby in Leinster.  Rugbytech and Coca-Cola will be showing their support to underage girls’ rugby by providing prizes on the day.

So why not come down and show your support for the girls as it looks set to being a great day out for all the family!
