Lewis And Rolland Set For European Semis

No Leinster and no Munster but there will be a strong Irish involvement in the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup as two of Ireland’s international referees take charge of the matches.

There is still an Irish angle to the Heineken Cup semi-finals. Eoin Reddan’s form for Wasps of late has been scintillating and Simon Easterby is captain and one of the stalwarts of Llanelli Scarlets. They will be in good company in the semi-finals as two Irishmen have been appointed to referee the games.

Alain Rolland will take charge of the Leicester v Llanelli game on Saturday April, 21 at the Walkers Stadium. This is his third time the former scrum half will whistle a semi-final.

Alan Lewis will be the man in the middle for the Sunday game (April 22) when Wasps host Northampton at the Ricoh stadium in Coventry – a new venue for the Heineken Cup. It will be Lewis’ second time refereeing a European Cup semi-final.
