Cork Con To Proceed With Ground Sale

Cork Constitution FC are to proceed with the sale of their Temple Hill ground, after a resounding majority of their club members voted in favour of the move.

Con, who are currently top of the table in AIB League Division One, have been at the Temple Hill site for over 50 years.

Thursday night witnessed a special general meeting of Con club members and over 90% of those present voted in favour of the proposition, with the Leesiders set to acquire a new 38-acre site at Ballyorban, Douglas.

The new site, aproximately three miles from Temple Hill, will be developed into a new rugby complex with provision for six full-size pitches, including a main pitch which will be floodlit. There will be training lights on a number of the other pitches.

A new clubhouse with full facilities is also to be provided, with further scope for development.

Con have one home match left in the regulation phase of the league – a clash with Terenure College at Temple Hill on Saturday, April 7.
