…Michael Bradley…

Connacht coach Michael Bradley has named his 22-man squad for the province’s opening Magners League tie against Border Reivers on Friday (Netherdale, kick-off 7.30pm).

The westerners will travel without a number of players, including Ireland ‘A’ prop Ray Hogan, who were not considered due to injury. Recent signing Ray Ofisa, the Samoan flanker, will also not be pressed into action.

However, South African prop Brett Wilkinson and former London Irish hooker Adrian Flavin have both been included and look set to make their competitive debuts in Scotland.

Bradley is hoping his side “hit the ground running” on Friday, especially as the province’s next six league games are at home at the Sportsground.

They face the Ospreys on Friday week, and entertain Llanelli Scarlets, Edinburgh Gunners, Leinster, Ulster and Newport Gwent Dragons over the coming weeks.

Season tickets are on sale now on www.connachtrugby.ie, and are also available from the Connacht Branch headquarters at the Sportsground, College Road, Galway.

CONNACHT (Squad v Border Reivers): John Fogarty (capt), Michael Diffley, Stephen Knoop, Brett Wikinson, Adrian Flavin, Andrew Farley, David Gannon, Brendan O’Connor, Colm Rigney, John Muldoon, Matt Lacey, Paul Warwick, Mark McHugh, Tom Tierney, Chris Keane, Conor McPhillips, Daniel Riordan, Matt Mostyn, Gavin Williams, Darren Yapp, Keith Matthews.

Not considered due to injury: Ronan Loughney, Ray Hogan, David McGowan, Joe Merrigan, Ted Robinson.
