Connacht have appointed Mark McHugh vice-captain for the coming season. McHugh, who was 28 on August 9th, is heading into his sixth season with Connacht.

McHugh, who crowned his only Irish cap against Tonga three years ago with a try has been one of Connacht’s best signings since arriving from Leinster five seasons ago and his prodigious kicking has provided Connacht with plenty of options.

He has scored many memorable kicks for Connacht including a last minute drop goal which gave them their first ever win over Leinster at Donnybrook four years ago.
