The I.R.F.U. is running a number of New Recruits Referee Courses in the provinces:

Connacht: Connacht Branch HQ, Galway Sportsground, Galway
Sunday the 10th of September 2006 @ 10.30

Leinster: Old Belvedere RFC, Anglesey Road, Donnybrook, Dublin 4
Sunday the 20th of August 2006 @ 10.30

Munster: Mallow Park Hotel, Mallow, Co. Cork
Sunday the 10th of September 2006 @ 10.00

Ulster: Le Mon Hotel, 41 Gransha Road, Comber, Northern Ireland
Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th of August 2006 @ 10.30

Ireland has a long history of providing some of the top referees in the world. Current Director of Referee Development Owen Doyle was a respected international referee,Further back Kevin Kelleher held the world record for the number of internationals as referee with 23 games between 1959 and 1971. The record stood until 1991.
