GORDON D’ARCY: ONE ON ONE

The All Black you most respect – Probably Richie McCaw. He’s never been sin binned I think. For a guy that lies on the other side of the opposition for so long and never been sin binned. Ah no, I think he just epitomises everything about All Blacks rugby.

The worst personal habit of Brian O’Driscoll – He’s got too many hair products.

The best thing about being in the Ireland team – Playing alongside Brian O’Driscoll.

If you were in charge of Ireland – I’d move Ireland about 100 miles south. Get a bit of decent weather, it’s a bit too much like home here (in Auckland) at the moment.

Beer of choice – Guinness, and a nice whiskey chaser.

…D’Arcy training in the Auckland rain…

City in Ireland that has the best looking women – Wexford, that’s my home town. There are some absolute beauts down there.

How many rugby groupies do you reckon you’ve had over the years – Two and a half.

Best physical asset of a woman – Her stomach.

Coronation Street or Pop Idol – Neither, I hate that sort of TV. I don’t watch too much TV really.

Want England to miss out at the soccer World Cup – I’d like to see them lose but I think they’re just not good enough. I think Argentina will win it.

All Black, current or former, that you would most like to sit down and have a beer with – Possibly Sean Fitzpatrick. He was there before it was really professional so I’d say he’s got some interesting stories. The post-matches are a little bit more technical these days. The times when the big boys used to head straight out after a game are kinda almost gone. It’d be interesting to hear what stories he has from the early years.
