Women’s Rugby: All Ireland League Finals

A hat-trick for Belton and UL-Bohs and a last minute try for Ballicollig in the All Ireland League Finals

…Sarah-jane Belton – in action here for Ireland, scored a hat-trick to help UL-Bohs to the Division 1 title for the fifth year running in the All Ireland League…

A hat-trick in the second half from Ireland skipper Sarah-jane Belton was enough to secure UL-Bohs the AIL Division One title for the fifth year running as the Limerick side came back from a 6-0 deficit at half time. Blackrock centre Grace Davitt had put her side ahead with two penalties but Belton’s superb cameos from fullback crushed any chances the Dublin side had. Carol Murphy converted the three tries.

Earlier in the day Ballincollig claimed the second division crown with a last minute try from player/coach Wendy Keenan. The Cork side were 8-0 down at one point in the game but tries from Eimear O’Sullivan and Keenan helped them to victory.

AIL Division One Final: UL-Bohemians 21 Blackrock 6

AIL Division Two Final: Clonmel 8 Ballincollig 10
