Munster have received a vote of confidence ahead of their Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Leinster as IrishRugby.ie users have voted their forwards as the provinces’ “most impressive pack.”

In our latest poll, we asked: “Which province’s pack has impressed you the most this season?”

From the 4530 votes we received, Declan Kidney’s Munster side, with their traditional forward strength, have emerged as expected winners with 55% (2490 votes). Their pack was central to their qualification through to a sixth Heineken Cup semi-final in seven seasons.

Munster’s forwards have accounted for 14 of the side’s 23 tries in their seven European games this season. Lock Paul O’Connell (3 tries), hooker Jerry Flannery (2) and captain and number 8 Anthony Foley (2) have all been in impressive form.

Celtic League leaders Leinster finished second with 22% (1018 votes), one-time leaders Ulster were third with 14% (620 votes) and Heineken Cup qualification play-off chasers Connacht ranked fourth (9% (402 votes)).
