In Pics: Leinster Fans Collect Heineken Cup Tickets

Click here for photos of a very ‘Good’ Friday for Leinster supporters in Donnybrook as they collect their tickets for the Heineken Cup semi-final against Munster.

Pictured above: Leinster supporters queue outside the province’s Donnybrook headquarters to collect their tickets for next Sunday’s eagerly-awaited Heineken Cup semi-final against Munster. With a seasonal nod to Willy Wonka and his chocolate factory, a total of 47,800 ‘golden tickets’ have been distributed or are being distributed for the Lansdowne Road clash (kick-off 3.00pm).

42,800 tickets have gone to the two provinces with the remaining allocation distributed between tournament organisers ERC’s family of partners (Heineken, FedEx, EDF Energy, Alice and Webb Ellis), broadcast partners in TV and radio, media promotion, ERC Official Corporate Hospitality and oher European Rugby stakeholders.

Names are checked off a list as some delighted fans get their tickets for arguably the biggest ever game in provincial rugby history.

The queue snakes around the corner as interest in the province’s first ever Heineken Cup meeting reaches a peak. Next Sunday will mark Munster’s sixth semi-final appearance in seven seasons, whilst Leinster have been semi-finalists twice previously – they were beaten in the last-four by Cardiff in 1995/96 and Perpignan (at Lansdowne Road) in 2002/03.

A delighted Clive Long is pictured with his children Nathan and Dina and his tickets for the semi-final.
