Captain Brian O’Driscoll, Paul O’Connell, Jerry Flannery and Shane Horgan have been selected on the RBS 6 Nations Championship Dream Team by visitors to the official tournament website.

Over 10,000 visitors to the website, www.rbs6nations.com, voted for a Dream 15 Team each week. The overall 2006 Dream Team XV, which contains four Irish, four Scots, three Welsh, two Italians, two French and NO English players, is as follows:

Thomas Castaignede (France); Shane Horgan (Ireland), Brian O’Driscoll (Ireland), Mirco Bergamasco (Italy), Sean Lamont (Scotland); Stephen Jones (Wales), Dwayne Peel (Wales); Duncan Jones (Wales), Jerry Flannery (Ireland), Carlos Nieto (Italy), Paul O’Connell (Ireland), Jerome Thion (France), Jason White (Scotland), Allister Hogg (Scotland), Simon Taylor (Scotland).

O’Driscoll, a busy man over the last few days, took part in the adidas 10+ soccer event in London on Thursday, playing alongside Cork’s 2005 All-Ireland SHC winning captain Sean Og O hAilpin in an Irish team captained by Chelsea and Ireland midfielder Damien Duff.

Duff’s team, which also included six young competition winners, took part in challenges that included dodgeball, memory steps and a penalty shoot-out. They competed against a number of teams led by 11 England players, including David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole.

O’Driscoll said: “I kind of feel like the eighth kid on the team. It’s a big deal to have all these players here in the one place – and being on a team with Duffer and Sean Og, well, it doesn’t happen every day.”
