Nine additional players, including Munster winger Ian Dowling, have been called up for training with the Irish squad ahead of Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations showdown with England (Twickenham, kick-off 5.30pm).

The Irish squad had a closed training session at St. Gerard’s School in Bray this morning ahead of tomorrow’s team announcement (12.45pm) for the England game.

The following players are training this week – Forwards: Neil Best, Keith Gleeson, Jamie Heaslip and Bryan Young; Backs: Tommy Bowe, Ian Dowling, Denis Hickie, Robert Kearney and Kieran Lewis – in addition to the 22-man squad that was selected for last Saturday’s win over Scotland.

The Irish squad and management will travel over to London on flight EI 172 on Thursday afternoon.
