Ireland number 8 Denis Leamy has been cleared by a 6 Nations Disciplinary panel of an alleged stamping offence during the Ireland v Italy RBS 6 Nations game at Lansdowne Road on Saturday, February 4.

The verdict means that Leamy will be able to play for Ireland against France at Stade de France this coming Saturday.

Commenting on the outcome of Wednesday’s hearing in London, Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan said: “We are obviously delighted with the outcome of the panel and thought that justice was done. Denis and the rest of the squad can now concentrate on Saturday’s game against France.”

Denis Leamy said: “I am happy that the whole process is now over and I believe that I received a fair hearing regarding the incident. I can now look forward to this weekend’s game and performing to the best of my ability for Ireland.”
