Pictured above: St. Mary’s speedster Colm Quinn is just caught by St. Gerard’s winger Daragh Byrne at Donnybrook. Mary’s eventually won after a tough battle, scoring four tries through Ray Crotty, Jack Buggy, Padraig Lalor and Eamon Moran. Fly half Neil Cowhey put in a man-of-the-match performance as he controlled broken play, converted all four tries and added two penalties.

Mary’s face the winners of today’s tie between Castleknock College and CBC Monkstown in the next round.

Lock Joe Slowey does well to claim a lineout for Mary’s.

St. Gerard’s centre Simon Nelson tries to keep a move going for the County Wicklow school despite the attentions of Mary’s winger Ray Crotty. Gerard’s did manage to get in amongst the tries after being 34-3 down after 51 minutes – Andrew Whelan, Burschi Wojnar and Eamon Deveney scored late tries for them, but it was too late for a comeback.

St. Gerard’s flanker Nick Kruseman leaps highest to claim a lineout at Donnybrook.

St. Gerard’s scrum half Simon Campbell takes possession forward, but is stopped in his tracks by Mary’s lock Joe Slowey.
