Connacht prop Ray Hogan tries to make the hard yards against Montpellier. Hogan was unfortunately taken off four minutes in the second half with an eye injury. Connacht manager Tim Allnutt confirmed that when the 24-year-old Hogan “hit a ruck, a finger or elbow seemed to catch him in the eye. It’s not too serious but more will be revealed when he sees a specialist.” Hogan is a doubtful traveller for the westerners’ must-win trip to Catania on Friday.

Connacht’s former Ireland international Matt Mostyn is surrounded by Montpellier defenders.

Connacht fly half David Slemen tries to chip around Montpellier’s Mamuka Gorgodze.

Referee Wayne Barnes spots number 8 Colm Rigney’s grounding at the bottom of a ruck.

Montpellier duo Murphy Taele and Regis Lespinas tackle Connacht captain and lock Andrew Farley in Galway. Farley’s side sit second in Pool Five, a single point behind Worcester Warriors ahead of next weekend’s final round of games. Worcester are away to Montpellier on Friday, while Connacht are Sicily-bound.
