Pictured above: Munster’s South African centre Trevor Halstead tries to break through the tackle of Castres fly half Laurent Marticorena, with Ronan O’Gara in support. The 29-year-old Halstead was named as man-of-the-match in his fourth outing in the Heineken Cup.

Full-back Shaun Payne darts in at the left corner for Munster’s second try. It was the 33-year-old’s first try of the 2005/06 Heineken Cup.

Munster lock Paul O’Connell tries to escape the grasp of Castres prop Jeremy Castex. Friday marked O’Connell’s first Heineken Cup appearance of the season due to the hand injury he suffered in September. The Young Munster clubman duly obliged with two tries.

Referee Chris White awards Munster their opening try – prop Marcus Horan was the scorer. It was the 28-year-old’s second try in three Heineken Cup games.

Paul O’Connell powers through the tackle of Castres lock Karim Ghezal to score his first try.
