Last weekend saw players from the Leinster senior squad visit some of the province’s clubs, continuing the IRFU’s drive to 2005/06 – “the Year of the Club.” Pictured above: Leinster and Ireland hooker Bernard Jackman surrounded by local children at Portlaoise Rugby Football Club.

The Leinster players – including Jackman, who is pictured leading a coaching session in Portlaoise – visited a number of rugby clubs: Malahide, Suttonians, Blackrock College, De La Salle Palmerston, Coolmine, Lansdowne and St. Mary’s College.

It is hoped that there will be further drives in the New Year to promote the game in both the clubs and schools where the “Leinster Go Back To School” initiative has been so successful in the past.
