In Pics: Part I: Ireland 14 Australia 30

Click here for photos from Saturday’s permanent tsb International between Ireland and Australia at Lansdowne Road.

Pictured above: Young Ulster centre Andrew Trimble, who made his senior international debut against Australia fails to hide his disappointment after the final whistle.

The 21-year-old Trimble, who had a competent and combative outing against the Wallabies, tries to shake off the tackles of Morgan Turinui and Nathan Sharpe.

Trimble’s Ulster team mate Tommy Bowe tries to break past Wallaby scrum-half and captain George Gregan, who was earning a world record 117th cap at Lansdowne Road.

Ireland full-back Geordan Murphy chips through past Australian fly-half Mat Giteau, who kicked three conversion and three penalties in the 16-point victory.

An early skirmish saw Australian debutant prop David Fitter (centre) become entangled with Ronan O’Gara.

Injured Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll, the man whose jersey Trimble filled on Saturday, tries his hand at working a television camera at Lansdowne Road.
