Peter Bracken in action for Connacht

Former Connacht tighthead prop Peter Bracken was in record breaking form ahead of his debut for London Wasps.

The 27-year-old, who signed for the Premiership champions last month, makes his bow for Shaun Edwards’ side tonight against the Ospreys in a pre-season friendly.

Bracken missed Wasps’ opening two friendlies against Exeter and Newbury due to a niggling ankle injury, but the 6ft 2in Ireland “A” powerhouse displayed his fitness in fine style last Sunday, by managing a dead lift of 240kg (38 stone), to break former All Black Craig Dowd’s club record by five kilograms.

Bracken was the third Irishman to join Wasps during the summer, after Jeremy Staunton and Eoin Reddan.
