Declan Kidney has been given a “thumbs up” by irishrugby.ie users. Our latest poll rated Munster as the province likely to do best in the forthcoming Celtic League.

Coach Kidney, in his second spell in charge of the men in red, oversaw a heartening 20-18 pre-season friendly win over Northampton last weekend, with a number of new and young players from the province involved.

With last year’s Celtic League second place behind them, it’s looking pretty good for a top finish again for Munster come the end of May.

We asked you in our latest poll: Which province will do best in this season’s Celtic League?”

Out of 2,276 registered votes, Munster polled 39.5% (898 votes), Michael Cheika’s Leinster rated second on 25.5% (578), Ulster, under Mark McCall, were third with 22% (501), while Challenge Cup-qualified Connacht, bossed by Michael Bradley and his new assistant Eric Elwood this year, garnered 13% (299).

Many thanks to all those who voted.
