The three Exiles’ players in the Ireland U19 World Cup squad all played prominent roles in the tournament just completed in South Africa.
Callum Black (loose-head; UWE Hartpury College & Gloucester) started as first-choice in every game – a major achievement in the front row at this level of competition.
Brendan Lynch (tight-head; Rotherham Titans) started as first-choice before injury but was able to return and come off the bench in the last two games, against Japan and Scotland.
Robert Boles (right wing/full-back; Colston’s Collegiate School) benched in every game, coming off it regularly e.g. to score a try against Japan.
We congratulate all three on their contribution to the Irish cause in the World Cup and trust they will receive many more caps at the next levels.
