O’Driscoll And D’Arcy Travel To Poland

Irish captain Brian O’Driscoll and fellow centre Gordon D’Arcy have flown to Spala in Poland to continue rehabilitation from their hamstring injuries.

The injured pair just missed out on the Scotland game, with D’Arcy being the closest to taking the field, but the 25-year-old failed a fitness test last Friday, in Dublin.

The injured pair have travelled with the Ireland squad’s athletic trainer Brian Green, to the specialist cryotherapy centre in Spala, which was previously used by Eddie O’Sullivan’s men for pre-season training.

The cryotherapy centre exposes the players to extreme cold with the benefits including the ability to increase strength and power capacity, and also to help speed up recovery from injury.

The Leinster pairing will return to Ireland later in the week, and any update regarding their injuries will not be known until Sunday at the earliest, at which time both players’ injuries will be assessed.
