Corrigan Shakes Off Knee Worry

While Italy have been given a boost by the return-to-fitness of hooker Fabio Ongaro, Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan has welcomed loosehead prop Reggie Corrigan’s successful fitness test today.

While Italy have been given a boost by the return-to-fitness of hooker Fabio Ongaro, Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan has welcomed loosehead prop Reggie Corrigan’s successful fitness test today.

The 34-year-old Leinster skipper has shifted a knee problem sustained in training last Monday, to take his place in tomorrow’s starting line-up, with Marcus Horan of Munster remaining on the replacements bench.

O’Sullivan confirmed: “Reggie is fine. He took part in an extensive session yesterday. He had a run-out with the team again today and he’s good to go.”

Munster out-half Ronan O’Gara (pictured, above) completed his kicking practice in the sunshine at the Stadio Flaminio this afternoon.
