A COACHING WORKSHOP FOR IRISH COACHES -NOT TO BE MISSED!

Sunday November 7 2004 at DCU, Dublin

This workshop is aimed at all coaches involved in coaching team sports. Some of Ireland’s top team sport coaches will present their latest thinking and best practice. The latest international thinking on player development in the team sports will be presented by NCTC special adviser on Long Term Player Development, Dr Istvan Balyi.

12.00pm Best practice in preparing for international team sports
Brian Kerr, Manager of the Ireland Soccer Team and Eddie O Sullivan, Manager of the Ireland Rugby Team

1.30pm Lunch

2.30pm Best practice in preparing for the national games
Pat Flanagan, fitness trainer to the All-Ireland football champions, Kerry and Sean McGrath, fitness trainer to the All-Ireland hurling champions, Cork

3.30pm Latest research in training adolescents in gaelic football
Niall Moyna and Mickey Whelan

4.30pm Making player development happen in team sports
Debbie Massey and Greg Gurr, Basketball Ireland

5.15pm Open Forum involving representatives from each of the team sports
