The sides meet in Lansdowne Road with Lansdowne desperate for the points that will guarantee their place in the top tier next season. They currently rest in 12th position just two points off bottom placed Galwegians and the Galway side will play St Mary’s in Crowley Park knowing that a win is a must if they are to pull off the great escape.

Second from bottom, Dolphin are in Musgrave Park for their final game against a Blackrock side who have nothing tangible to play for and in that scenario, you’d have to put your money on the Cork side.

So if Dolphin and Galwegians win, then Lansdowne must beat the league leaders or else face relegation.

At the top, third placed Belfast Harlequins are home to fifth placed Ballymena while Buccaneers, in fourth travel to Stevenson Park to play a Dungannon side who still need points to make themselves safe.

In Division Two, leaders Old Belvedere need just to keep their composure when they visit Thomond Park to take on third placed UL Bohemians. With second placed Dublin University pitted against Sunday’s Well, They need at least two points from their visit to Thomond where Bohs have more than enough incentive to spoil Belvo’s season.

UCC travel to Rosbrien and any slip-up could cost them a play-off place with Bective Rangers (home to DLSP) best placed to benefit.

Highfield lead Greystones by two points in Division Three and both sides wind it up with home games against Corinthians and Naas respectively, two sides courting relegation. However, it’s Naas who look odds on for the drop and the positions at the top are unlikely to change, Highfield destined for promotion and a home.

With five northern clubs occupying positions three to seven, two will contest the play-offs. Ards have home advantage against Instonians as do Queens University and this pair should make up the knock-out quartet.
