Ireland captured the Triple Crown for the first time since 1985 with a comprehensive 37-16 victory over Scotland at Lansdowne Road.

Ireland led 16-9 at half time with tries from RBS Man of Match Gordon D’Arcy and Geordan Murphy.

They then saw that lead erased by the Scots when Alistair Hogg scored a try eight minutes into the second half but Ireland responded in splendid fashion and tries from David Wallace, Peter Stringer and a magical final effort from D’Arcy gave the home side a victory they richly deserved.
