Munster and Leinster will meet in the final of the LGM Ireland Colleges competition which will be played in Railway Union Grounds on Friday 26th march.

Munster 54 – 0 Ulster.

Munster produced a superb display of rugby to overcome a very inexperienced and young Ulster team in the Interprovincial semifinal which took place at Mullingar RFC. on Wednesday. The Munster pack was the rock on which this victory was built and with man of the match Philip O’Connor (Colaiste Chiarain) leading by example and making the hard yards. Aidan Rees (Ul Bohs) was able to get a very pacy backline running to great effect. Brendan Burke (Garda College) was the try scoring hero on the day as he notched three tries, whilst John Lillis (WIT) kicked five conversions and scored a fine try before being forced off through injury.

All in all it was a composed display by this Munster team who will give there opponents Leinster a lot to ponder on in the run up to the final which takes place on the 26th of March at the Railway Union Grounds in Dublin.

Connacht 20 – 23 Leinster.
There will be a new name on the trophy this year as Connacht relinquished there three year grip on the Irish Students third level Inter provincial competition.

In what was a very level game the whole way through, Leinster’s ability to snatch vital scores at important stages of the game was the telling factor in the end. However, Connacht were not a team who come to have their title taken from them in a tame manner and the resulting contest between both sides was characterised by strong running from both packs.
